week 1

day 1

My new owners picked me up today and brought me home. I got a little nervous at first as it was another dog that they had actually picked out a few days ago, fortunately for me that dog has quite the waiting list of people wanting him. so I really laid on the charm and my new master, which they call Debi, could not resist taking me home...it was love.

As we arrived at my new home, I was introduced to two small humans. the one called Michael seems to be in love with me and enjoys playing quite vigorously with me. the other one they call Ruthie, is a little more stand-offish. Though I do consider myself lucky since I heard my new owners talking about when the cats first met Ruthie...apparently she was quite rough with them (rough enough to gain her the name of "Ruthie The Ruthless"). I was also introduced to two other humans that are not master size but much larger than the two small humans. They are called James and Reanna. They have been exceptionally nice to me thus far.

"It's so nice to get that pound puppy stench off"

Shortly after arrival, Master Debi gave me a bath (as seen in pic above) and then groomed me. This is very different from the treatment I got at the humanes society (don't get me wrong, they were great, but this was like being at a spa). After all that I played with everyone and noticed two cats, one black and one black and white, stalking me all day...kinda creepy. The third cat (gray in color) did not stalk me, but it appears to me that she is the leader and i am sure that the others are working under her authority. I don't trust 'em, but I'll just have to learn to deal with it.

At the end of the day, my other Master (called Sam) came home from work. Everyone then ate dinner and we went to the park. We had a blast at the park and then came home. And now i will go and enjoy my new home. Until next time...

Day 2

Today I was much more comfortable with my surroundings. I am loving these people. They have given me their total trust. They even let me sleep in their bed last night, even though it was my first night here. I did have some excitement though when Debi decided to start pushing around something called a vaccuum cleaner. I had to get away before that thing attacked me, so I climbed over the baby gate and into the master bedroom. Apparently this showed them that I am capable of getting into trouble if I so desired, which I really didn't want them to know but it was a matter of life or death. All the humans are great, very loving and treat me very well. The cats are a different story. Gomez, the black and white cat, apparently sleeps in the Masters' bed every night. So we decided to set aside our differences last night and are getting along now just fine, as a matter of fact it turns out he is also a stray that was rescued by these people. I still catch Wednesday, the black cat, stalking me sometimes...I'm not sure if we will become friends or not. The gray cat, Grandmama, is starting to approach me every now and then. A few sniffs here and a few sniffs there...not sure what her game is yet. Well, I'm off to bed now. So, until next time...
Day 3

"Ahh, total comfort. and modesty...that's for the cats"

Today I found joy in chasing the cats around and barking at them a little just to let them know that I am in charge now. I made the mistake of peeing on a bookshelf today to start marking my territory, but after finding some info out about Gomez, I realize that this may have been a big mistake. Apparently the Masters of the house paid a mercenary to brutally mutilate Gomez...they had his manhood removed. I am thinking that it would be a good idea to stay on these people's good side. When I inquired as to what Gomez had done to deserve such a punishment, no one seemed to have an answer. I'm not sure what to think of these people now. On one hand they seem so nice and loving, on the other hand Gomez's scars speak for the brutality that these people are capable of inflicting. I think I'll try and walk on eggshells for a while and see how things go. Until next time...

Day 4

Well my plan to not anger my masters has failed. I don't know what came over me, but I decided to pee and poop in the house today. This resulted in less time running around the house and more time in my small prison cell they call a "kennel" or my "place". Whatever people, you're not fooling anyone by giving it a cute name. While in my "place", the cats constantly came by to torment me and gloat in their freedom. Apparently they have their own spot, INSIDE THE HOUSE MIND YOU, that they get to go to the bathroom. Why must I be the only one in this household that has to endure the humility of doing my bussiness outside for the whole world to see. Well at least it's better than being at the pound. I guess I'll just have to chalk this one up to just a bad day. Until next time...
